米空軍戦闘機パイロット（女）マラカウスキー少佐は、2006年（1）、サンダーバードとして知られる米空軍エリート部隊で、初の女性パイロットになった。サンダーバードのパイロット達を米空軍はエリート中のエリートと呼んでいる。

第二次世界大戦時、空軍女性サービス・パイロット（女）"Wings Across America"という団体の次長。
たいたいは、ガイ・ラズさんが、質問を投げかけ、ニコル・マラカウスキーさんとディニー・パリッシュさんが応えていくというフォーマットになっています。
質問に入る前に、ニコル・マラカウスキーさんにスタジオに来てもらって、ニコルさんの英雄（2）である、WASP（3）の名で広く知られていた、第二次世界大戦中に戦闘機を飛ばしていた「女性空軍サービスパイロット」"the Women Airforce Service Pilots"についての話を聞くことになっていること。この週が、300人あまりの生き残ったWASPメンバーたちにとって大切な週になること。それは、水曜日に、オバマ大統領が法案に署名し、第二次世界大戦のWASPメンバーに、アメリカ議会から金メダルを授与する法律が成立した、などの説明があります。

From 'Radio Diaries,' an Oral History of the WASPs." I am drawn to the pride in one of the women pilot's - Deanie Parris's - voice. It's more than the nostalgia for bygone days in the youth. I'd like to know the source of her pride and if - only if - it could be robbed away from her if the U.S.A were defeated 65 years ago?
I often think the power of an individual is limited to make difference in the world. However, in this story, one woman's (Major Nicole Malachowski's) lobbying effort paid handsomely to get recognition these 300 women pilots needed so badly and restored the history for them. This is a fine example of good comes from an individual.
