Ｓｏｒｒｙ　I haven’t been writing but I was busy with preparations for last Saturday nite’s live party. By the way it was a big success once again. That was number eleven. I never thought we’d be able to go this far. The next party will be held on the 24th of June so I’m letting you know early.

My web site has finally been updated even though it’s past the month’s midway point. My song of the month is actually chants based on the idiom “pick out” You can practice your liaisons, word reductions, and accents with me by accessing http://www.ne.jp/asahi/eigo-de/karaoke/songs.html
by accessing the same address you can check out some of the idioms and expressions from the movie “Dead Poet’s Society” this is an excellent movie about a boy’s private school and their controversial teacher.

My journal tells you where you can hear live jazz in Tokyo. Major and minor clubs are talked about along with a mini assessment

Ｗｅ　ｈａｖｅ　ａ　new cat. Since my daughter moved out and took “Butch” (the cat I wrote about in a previous entry) with her we missed having “Butch” around and so we wanted another cat. Therefore we now have a Bengal cat that we call “Mao”. Mao has been in heat since we got her and so she’s been leaving sprinkles of piss all over the house: on my shirt, on my sheets, in my wife’s bag, and all over the floor. Today she went to the vet to have an operation to sterilize her. Hopefully she won’t be pissing all over the place when she comes back home tomorrow.

I’ve been teaching a lot of my students with chants based on idioms ( as you can see on my web site song of the month, these are actually chants). Chants seem to be very difficult for the student at first but through time they will be able to produce near native sounds.. I’ve had success with one student in particular who is able to produce native sounds in chants. I now have to figure out how to make her use it in her speaking all the time. If you have any ideas let me know.

Ｉ　ｗｅｎｔ　ｔｏ　a really nice bar last night called 57 located in Roppongi. I went to listen to a jazz trio consisting of clarinet, guitar and bass. The band plays in a corner of a wall to wall carpeted sunken area of the bar with a really high ceiling. There is a circular high backed wall sofa with cushions where people can listen to the music in comfort while sipping a drink. There are a few tables to set your drinks on. The atmosphere is really excellent.
The Huw Lloyd trio plays there every Wednesday night and there’s no cover charge. So if you’re free some Wednesday night stop by the Club 57. www.fiftyseven.com You’ll be glad you did.

Now Tigers mistresses are demanding an apology as well. I’m sure all they want is publicity or to have their faces all over the news and on websites. I’m sure some of them must be fake mistresses, in other words they actually have nothing to do with Tiger. They’re just going in for the free ride.

Tonight I read the Tiger Woods statement about his recent troubles. True, he was attacked by the media as I stated before. As he said in his statement not only was he being tracked down on his every move but also his wife and children. He even has been attending therapy sessions. But I also realized that if you achieve fame you get money and you live comfortably. It must also be an accepted fact hat along with being in the limelight for whatever it is that you do you’ll be in the limelight for whatever wrongdoings you do as well .Not only you but your family as well. So I think Tiger finally found this out. Fame and no privacy go hand in hand. You can’t have one without the other.

I’ve been finding that people across the globe have been getting stranger and more daring than ever. For example this excerpt from internet news about grinding:

When teens grind, schools freak
When Susan Schmaeling’s 16-year-old son complained to her that the priests chaperoning his Catholic high school's dance didn't allow him and other students to grind, she fought her impulse to scream. Instead, she tried to stay calm yet be very direct in her response. “I told him that grinding is not an appropriate manner of dance,” says Schmaeling.
Across the nation, public schools have been putting the brakes on grinding — also known as freak dancing — where partners repeatedly rub their pelvises together in a sexually suggestive manner.

I got a request from one of my students to do a Lady Gaga song for a music/English lesson. I downloaded the song and the lyrics and checked her out on You Tube. She dances around in skimpy costumes with pelvic movements. Then I checked her lyrics to the song “Bad Romance” which was the requested song:

I want your psycho
Your vertical stick
Want you in my rear window
baby your sick

You can’t get much more graphic than that. And this 22 year old is selling millions of CD’s. Well I had to find a toned down song of hers to replace “Bad Romance” with.

It seems society is luring young people, and old alike, to let it all hang out. So I can’t blame young high school kids for grinding. It’s all around you, wherever you go. Internet dating sites, movies with nudity and explicit sex scenes on TV, kinky pop singers, prostitutes in Shibuya, micro mini skirted high school girls. boys dressed up as maids in Akihabara’s maid cafes. It’s society’s fault that people go farther and farther to the left. Don't you think?
